Better than ysl touché éclat but honestly, I think maybellines concealers does the same job at brightening and covering under eye circles. This is very much a splurge item.

Have this in 'cream'. For me, in terms of colour, consistency and application, this worked out so much better than YSL's Touche Eclat, which I have been using for some years. Only used under eyes, but understand it can be used in other areas too.

#03 Beige: This is a very elegant formulation with a whisper thin finish. If you have good skin and just want to brighten up your face (using the inverted triangle method under the eyes and beside the nose) this is great for that. For the record, I dislike YSL's Touche Eclat and this can be compared to that, but Touche Veloutee provides better coverage. The problems that I have are that the finish is a little dry - it dries semi-matte and accentuates any surface dryness I might have (even though I have combination/oily skin!). So you really need to exfoliate well. Additionally, I don't find that it provides sufficient coverage for my dark circles. I have eye bags, and darkness pools at the bottoms of the circles as remnants from black eyes I had as a result of a major car accident a couple of years ago. This doesn't make them look ashy but it doesn't brighten or cover them much. Because the texture is thin, it doesn't settle into fine lines as much as something gloopy as say, Laura Mercier's Secret Concealer, but it does settle into any lines you may have. For reference, I am about an NC30-35 and I use #03 Beige, which isn't perfect (a little too light) but will do due to the sheerness. I find this similar to Ellis Faas's concealer, except the EF has a more satin finish, while this is semi-matte.
